Why pursue training to work in the energy sector?

To want to train for jobs in the energy sector, you must necessarily love it. Conversely, discovering an interest in this sector requires you to follow suitable training, which is necessary to be able to work in the field. 

Working in the energy sector indeed requires specific skills and expertise that are imparted to you through dedicated training and programs. Since interventions can occur at several levels and in various branches of the sector, you must choose a training that allows you to work in the areas you prefer.

What training should you choose to work in renewable energies?

The jobs revolving around renewable energies are numerous, and the training offered to access them is just as varied. Depending on what you want to do and your professional objectives, you have a wide choice ranging from vocational certificates to long cycles of higher education.

The specialties offered in professional baccalaureate programs and in higher education institutions are also numerous to train you in the field. You can learn, among others, energy transition, eco-construction, thermal energy, or even nuclear energy. 

Training to become an installer

If you are more skilled in manual work and wish to work in the energy sector as an installer, you can choose a CAP. You just need to select one to become an installer. If you are determined from high school, pursuing a vocational baccalaureate oriented towards field jobs is also an alternative. 

Bac + 2 or Bac + 3 training programs

To access a job in the energy sector more quickly, you have the option to choose a short program of 2 to 3 years after the bac. This usually involves getting a BTS, which is equivalent to a Bac + 2, or a license that is equivalent to a Bac + 3. Depending on the available branches, you can choose to pursue a BTS in fluids, technical sales, or others. 

Renewable energy training in engineering schools

With the promotion of environmental protection and the limitation of the effects of climate change, many engineering schools train students in renewable energies. Generally, you have more options.

If you wish to obtain the title of engineer, you can decide to follow an engineering program that is accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur. ECE is an engineering school where you can follow such a program. To work as an engineer in the renewable energy sector, you just need to choose the major you prefer. 

As part of a long cycle leading to a diploma of bac + 5 level, a Master of Science or MSc is also an excellent alternative.
