Legal guarantees

The internship: a well-defined legal framework

Status and framework of the internship

You maintain your student status and must pay your tuition fees. The internship falls under initial training.
Once the agreement is signed, you are added to the company’s staff register, without obtaining employee status.

Internship compensation

In France, compensation becomes mandatory after 308 hours of presence, which is 44 days. Below this threshold, it remains optional.
The legal minimum is set at €4.35 per hour, paid monthly and calculated based on actual hours of presence.
Only compensations above the legal minimum are subject to social contributions.
Internationally, the regulations of the host country apply.

Duration

The minimum duration depends on the pedagogical requirements of the program.
The maximum authorized duration is 132 days of presence in the company, which is a little over 6 months full-time.
The internship can be completed continuously or alternately, if both the school and the company validate it.

Alternatives to Discover the Professional World

Professional experience most often takes the form of a tripartite internship agreement, full-time or in a work-study format. However, other formats remain possible:

Employment Contract

You become an employee of the company for the specified period.

Entrepreneurship

After validation, you can work on your business creation project with the support of the school’s teams.
