What is the Master of Science in Cybersecurity program ?
A global threat, a strategic response
Cyberattacks are among the fastest-growing threats globally, targeting governments, businesses, and individuals across all continents. From finance and healthcare to energy and transportation, no sector is spared. The global losses related to cybercrime are estimated to be in the trillions of dollars per year.
The Master of Science Cybersecurity program at ECE directly addresses this urgency. It includes two complementary programs, led by Dr. Oubaïda Chouchane, recipient of the Amity Global Academic Excellence Award 2025, specialist in trustworthy AI and digital sovereignty. Two visions, one shared ambition: to train the leaders of tomorrow’s cyber defense.
- Two complementary MSc for two visions of cybersecurity.
- A program leader recognized internationally.
- Teachings aligned with global regulations: GDPR, NIS2, AI Act, DORA.
- An international cohort facing real cyber threats.
Protecting large-scale organizations
The MSc Cybersecurity Management is an international program designed to train the next generation of leaders in cybersecurity. It combines in-depth technical expertise with strategic managerial vision, enabling graduates to design, implement, and oversee resilient security strategies in a global context
The program revolves around four main areas :
- The foundations of cybersecurity and defensive engineering, covering cryptography, secure network and system design.
- Threat intelligence and incident response, including monitoring, digital forensics, and threat hunting.
- Governance, risk, and compliance, involving European and international regulations.
- And finally, leadership in security and strategic management, to lead teams and make decisions in crisis situations.
This educational framework makes you a well-rounded professional, capable of addressing both technical aspects and the strategic and regulatory dimensions of cybersecurity.
- Navigating regulations and compliance challenges at an international scale.
- Auditing and strengthening the security of information systems.
- Designing and maintaining secure digital architectures.
- Anticipating, detecting, and responding to emerging threats.
Building sovereign digital infrastructures
Digital sovereignty has become a global strategic priority. With 70% of the European cloud market dominated by non-European players, governments, businesses, and public institutions are actively seeking experts who can design and govern independent and trustworthy digital infrastructures.
This unique MSc in Europe trains you at the intersection of cybersecurity, sovereign cloud, and trustworthy AI. You will master cloud-native and multi-cloud architectures, federated security, self-sovereign identities, and sovereign data spaces like GAIA-X. Finally, European regulations, GDPR, Data Act, AI Act, serve as a guiding thread throughout the training.
- Design and evaluate sovereign digital infrastructures.
- Implement advanced principles of cybersecurity and self-sovereign identity.
- Develop federated AI solutions in compliance with trustworthy AI.
- Apply and anticipate European and international regulations.
The most sought-after profiles in the digital market
The sector mainly recruits at Bac +5 level, with 47% of job offers in cybersecurity targeting this diploma level. The NIS2 directive, currently being transposed in France, will subject between 10,000 and 15,000 additional organizations to strict cybersecurity obligations. The DORA regulation, applicable since January 2025, imposes operational resilience requirements on the financial sector. These regulations are driving a surge in demand for CISOs, governance consultants, and security architects.
Profiles trained in the two MSc Cybersecurity programs at ECE are directly positioned to meet these needs. Their dual technical and managerial skills, combined with a mastery of international regulations, make them particularly sought-after candidates in a structurally competitive market.
- A massive demand for qualified profiles, driven by NIS2, DORA, and the AI Act.
- Attractive salaries immediately upon graduation, increasing significantly with experience.
- A rare and highly valued dual technical and managerial skill set.
- A sector that mainly recruits at Bac +5

ECE offers two specialized Master of Science programs in cybersecurity and digital sovereignty, both taught on the Paris campus and labeled CGE.
- The MSc in Cybersecurity Management is a 2-year program, accessible after Bac +3 or Bac +4. It trains leaders capable of designing and overseeing global cybersecurity strategies for information systems.
- The MSc Information Systems and Digital Sovereignty is a 1-year program, accessible only in the 2nd year (Bachelor’s +4 required). It trains experts in sovereign digital infrastructures, cloud, and trusted AI.
These two programs are complementary: one positions you on the strategic management of cybersecurity, the other on the design of sovereign and resilient digital ecosystems.
Admission to the MSc Cybersecurity at ECE is open to students from all scientific and technical backgrounds.
- To join the MSc Management of Cybersecurity in the 1st year, you must have a validated Bachelor +3 (180 ECTS) and a TOEIC B2 level in English. Direct entry into the 2nd year is possible with a validated Bachelor +4 (240 ECTS).
- The MSc Information Systems and Digital Sovereignty is only accessible in the 2nd year, with a validated M1 level diploma (240 ECTS) in computer science, engineering, data science, applied mathematics, cybersecurity, or a related field.
In both cases, your motivations for the cybersecurity sector and your professional project are essential evaluation criteria during the admission interview.
Your application file is submitted online directly on the ECE platform. It includes your transcripts, a CV, a cover letter specifying your motivations for cybersecurity, and your proof of English proficiency.
For international students residing outside of France, a specific application form is available on the OMNES Education platform.
After review of the file by a jury, an individual interview will be offered if your profile is selected. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your interest in the challenges of computer systems and your vision of the targeted profession. You will receive a response within a few days after the interview.
Yes, ethical hacking is an integral part of the MSc Management of Cybersecurity curriculum. You learn to simulate cyber attacks within a legal and controlled framework, identify system vulnerabilities, and develop appropriate remediation plans. This offensive approach is essential for building an effective defense.
Students work on practical labs reproducing real incident scenarios, using tools employed by professionals in the field. This practical dimension is at the heart of the program’s pedagogy: you face the same challenges encountered in large organizations, even before landing your first job.
The MSc Management of Cybersecurity and the MSc Information Systems and Digital Sovereignty are offered in initial training on the Paris campus. Work-study is not mentioned in the current modalities of these two programs.
Internships are, however, integrated into the curriculum. These immersion periods allow you to gain tangible experience in real professional IT environments, in France or abroad.
The network of 10,000 partner companies of the school facilitates access to high-stakes projects in various structures:
- large corporations ;
- companies specialized in cybersecurity ;
- consulting firms and public institutions.
