What is the Engineering Cycle Major in Cybersecurity?
The Cybersecurity Engineering Program at ECE is a major in the engineering cycle offered in French and English on the Paris campus. Over 2 years (2nd and 3rd years of the engineering cycle), you specialize in defensive cybersecurity and information systems management.
Certified SecNumEdu by ANSSI and co-constructed with Microsoft and Orange Cyberdefense, this major is the first cybersecurity training to integrate a unique focus on identity management. It prepares future engineers for the most critical challenges of digital security.
The targeted professional certification
The Cybersecurity Engineer Program leads to the title of ECE engineer, a level 7 diploma accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI). This diploma is recognized by the State and registered with the RNCP. The major benefits from the SecNumEdu label from ANSSI (National Agency for the Security of Information Systems), awarded in 2018, which guarantees the quality and rigor of training in cybersecurity. ECE is a member of the Conference of Grandes Écoles (CGE).

Assessment Methods
Throughout the two years of specialization, your progress is continuously assessed. The methods vary to cover all acquired skills:
- Technical projects, both individual and team-based, grounded in real cybersecurity issues.
- Practical laboratory work: attack simulations, forensics, SOC configuration.
- A Team Multidisciplinary Project (PPE) and the Final Year Project (PFE).
- An engineering internship of at least 6 months, or a work-study program, with a report and defense before a jury.
- An obligatory international academic stay, validated by a partner university of ECE.
A diploma recognized by the state and valued internationally
Yes. This training provides a professional certification registered with the RNCP by France Compétences (Ministry of Labor), confirming the recognition of the diploma and the adequacy of professional skills to the needs of companies.

How to apply for the Cybersecurity Engineering Program ?
Admission to the 2nd year of the engineering cycle
Students who have completed the first three years of the Grande École Engineering Program at ECE directly join the major.
Open for parallel admission to those holding a 4-Year degree validated by 240 ECTS in sciences or Computer Science.
How to apply?
- I submit my application online > through the common AVENIR PLUS procedure, if I am currently enrolled in a program of the French educational system (SEF) > on the ECE portal, if I am currently enrolled in a program outside the French educational system and I am not of European nationality.
- I go through the selection phase Regardless of the portal: > Mathematics Test for the program under Apprentice status (in alternating format) > Motivational interview by another selection jury from the ECE
- I receive the decision

Two options are available: the initial pace with a minimum 4-month technical internship in the 2nd year of the engineering cycle and a minimum 6-month engineering internship in the 3rd year of the engineering cycle, and work-study beginning in the 2nd year of the engineering cycle for those who wish to combine training and professional development in a company.
