This year, LyRIDS had the pleasure of welcoming ten interns, mostly from the research minor. Among the various activities offered, their engagement and contributions were highlighted during the internal conference, the LyRIDS Internship Symposium (LIS 2024).
A Successful Symposium and an Excellence Award
During this event, an award was established to recognize the best paper submitted. The award was given to Aya TOUNSI for her work titled “Identifying and Measuring Stress with Machine Learning”. In her study, she analyzed biometric data from first-year engineering students during a C programming exam.
Intern Spotlight: Aya TOUNSI Wins Best Paper Award
The results of her research reveal a significant correlation between the level of stress of students and their performance in exams. Aya benefited from the guidance of Guilherme MEDEIROS MACHADO, Faiza BELBACHIR, and Aakash SONI, researchers at LyRIDS. In recognition of her excellent work, she received a trophy and a gift card this Tuesday. Additionally, her results will soon be published in a scientific journal, marking an important milestone in her academic career.
