Driven by digital transformation, the sector continues to evolve and innovate. Among the companies that are hiring, we can notably mention service companies that provide technical services or consulting; technology consulting firms that enhance engineering and R&D projects; software publishers that design and develop the solutions that enable the functioning of all IT tools, as well as platforms that facilitate connections, the sale of services or goods online, for example.

The impact of digital technology on our daily lives is no longer to be demonstrated. Today, the use of cloud computing, connected objects, blockchains, and artificial intelligence has become the norm. These new technologies contribute to shaping the digital solutions of tomorrow. Through this constant innovation, we see the emergence of new uses, new services, but also new economic models. It is also essential to remind that these digital tools and services concern all sectors of activity: energy, transportation, telecommunications, education, industrial production, healthcare, agribusiness, banking, insurance, as well as the public sector.

Innovation in the digital transition is a technical and organizational challenge because it is necessary to evolve the practices of the entire company both internally (manufacturing, maintenance, control) and in its relations with the outside (clients and suppliers).

However, while companies in the digital sector face a rapid evolution of skills and the emergence of new jobs, they also suffer from a structural shortage of talent. The number of experts and engineers specialized in IT and digital technologies is largely insufficient compared to the demand from businesses. And this shortage affects all economic sectors whose needs remain unsatisfied today.

The alternating Bachelor’s degree: a catalyst for employability starting from bac+3

To address this shortage, companies are willing to hire young students as soon as they have a bachelor’s degree at very attractive salary levels and rapid career progression. Thus, ECE encourages its students to choose work-study, with a weekly schedule of 3 days at school and 2 days in the company, with coverage of tuition fees and a monthly salary thanks to the employee status that the student obtains in the company.

Moreover, the digital bachelor’s degree allows students to acquire the necessary foundations in computing, digital systems, management, and soft skills. From the 3rd year, students make choices about their specialization and develop technical skills in cybersecurity, web development, full stack development, data engineering, and project management.

Upon graduation, many students are offered jobs to directly enter the job market. Depending on the sector of activity and the region, the salary for an initial job in the digital field can vary between €30,000 and €38,000. And career advancements within companies are rapid!

After a bachelor’s degree, it is also possible to continue training either in an Engineering program or in an MSc, for two years, at ECE or in other schools, to obtain a master’s degree. This additional training allows students to:
