On Friday December 13, 2024, Maxime TOQUEBIAU successfully defended his thesis titled Improving Cooperation in Multi-Agent Deep Reinforcement Learning for Mobile Robotics at ECE. This ambitious research work is part of a fruitful collaboration between the LyRIDS Laboratory at ECE and the Intelligent Systems and Robotics Institute (ISIR) at Sorbonne University.

Collaboration between LyRIDS and ISIR of Sorbonne University

The defense took place in the presence of a jury composed of researchers and experts recognized in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics:

  •  Prof. Katrien Beuls, University of Namur (rapporteur),
  •  Dr. Clément Moulin-Frier, Inria (reviewer),
  •  Prof. Sylvain Chevallier, University Paris-Saclay (examiner),
  •  Prof. Aurélie Beynier, LIP6, Sorbonne University (examiner),
  •  Prof. Olivier Simonin, INSA Lyon, Inria (examiner),
  •  Prof. Faïz Ben Amar, ISIR, Sorbonne University (co-supervisor of the thesis),
  •  Prof. Nicolas Bredeche, ISIR, Sorbonne University (co-supervisor of the thesis),
  •  Dr. Jae Yun Jun Kim, ECE Paris (co-supervisor of the thesis).

Quality supervision

This success was made possible thanks to a rigorous and supportive framework provided by Nicolas Bredeche and Faïz Ben Amar from ISIR (Sorbonne Université), as well as Jae Yun Jun Kim from LyRIDS (ECE Paris). Their support enabled Maxime to successfully conduct his research in a collaborative and stimulating environment.

An inspiring success

ECE is proud to have among its doctoral candidates researchers as brilliant and determined as Maxime TOQUEBIAU. This success attests to the quality of the research carried out within our laboratories, in collaboration with renowned academic partners.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Maxime for this great achievement, as well as to his supervisors for their essential contribution. We wish him much success in the continuation of his scientific and professional career.
