On Friday, March 8, 2024, the Girls’ Day at the Lyon Campus will take place, a day dedicated to discovering the world of digital engineering aimed at high school girls and organized in partnership with the Blaise Pascal foundation.

What topics will be covered?

This day will allow participants to:

  • Identify prevalent gender social stereotypes to overcome them;
  • Discover accessible role models;
  • Gain a better understanding of careers in mathematics, computer science, and the digital sector;
  • Become familiar with a higher education institution.

The day’s program

  • 09:00-09:15: Welcome ;
  • 09:15-10:30: “Mathematics and Computer Science Walk,” a conference given by two women who have studied in fields with a strong mathematical or computer science component about their paths and careers;
  • 10:45-12:00: Reflection workshop on stereotypes in small groups;
  • Lunch break;
  • 13:00-14:00: Several small group discussions (“speed meeting”) between young girls and women scientists about their paths, motivations, experiences, etc.;
  • 14:15-16:15: Forum theater piece titled Codée, proposed by the LAPS/morning team. It takes into account the high school reform with the elimination of tracks in general high school.

Pre-registration is open until February 25 (60 places maximum).
