Our students Matthieu Jollard and Louis Garcia, two 5th-year students from the ECE Engineering Program, within the Major in Product Engineering & Innovation led by Gerard Reus, have developed and published one of the most efficient models among the current global standards.

Our students in the Major of Product Engineering & Innovation are making a mark!

Thanks to our “learning by doing” pedagogy, they have gradually learned to analyze, develop, and then evaluate LLM models, based on recently published open-source research work by leaders in the field.

Ranked 2nd globally in the 72B open source category, and 9th among all model sizes in the EQ-Bench ranking (a reference benchmark used to measure the emotional intelligence of LLMs), the model surpasses some big names in the industry such as Llama-3-70B (Meta) or c4ai-command-r-plus (Cohere), and even competes with top LLMs like GPT4 (OpenAI) and Mistral-Large (Mistral).

A remarkable result from our students, achieved in just 1 month with the support of André-Louis Rochet and Paul Lemaistre, ECE teachers who are experts in generative AI. A wonderful recognition for ECE, encouraging its students to surpass themselves and reinvent technology across all fields!

The ECE enables its students to excel in new skills with the support of high-level teachers!
