The VAE at ECE
Validation of Acquired Experience – VAE.
What is VAE?
Recognized by the Labor Code, this system allows for the recognition of one’s experiences through the validation of a professional certification listed in the RNCP.
The law n°2022-1598 of December 21, 2022, concerning emergency measures related to the functioning of the labor market aimed at full employment has broadened access to VAE by simplifying the steps of the process, particularly through the creation of a unique digital platform: France VAE
Who is VAE for?
Anyone, regardless of age, nationality, status, and level of education, can apply for validation of acquired experience (VAE).
The experience must be directly related to a targeted certification to justify the acquisition of the skills and knowledge required for obtaining this certification through the VAE process.
The validation of acquired experience is aimed at:
- All individuals, employees in the private sector (in fixed-term or permanent contracts, temporary workers, etc.), job seekers, volunteers, or high-level athletes (Article L.221-2 of the Sports Code), and close caregivers
- Any person engaged in activities related to union responsibilities or in the context of a local elective function
Who funds the VAE?
The VAE system is considered a training action within the framework of professional training. As such, the costs related to the VAE can be covered by your CPF, by your employer (through the intermediary of the OPCO), or by public funders (Pôle Emploi, regional council, etc.).
