What is a delayed start?
The “rentrée décalée” allows students to begin their studies outside the traditional September start date. Staggered start dates vary from school to school. This option is ideal for students who want to change field or path without losing a year.
A staggered start to the engineering school year
The staggered start of the ECE school year will take place on Monday March 4, 2024.
You’ll follow an accelerated semester of study in small groups under special conditions, enabling you to enter the 1st year of the Engineering or Bachelor’s program without losing a year.
The admission process for the postponed start of the academic year
Are you in your1st year of PASS or L.AS medical studies, Math Sup, L1 Science or other specialties, and looking to change direction? You can enter the first year of the ECE preparatory cycle in accelerated mode in March 2024.
How do I register for a delayed start at ECE?
- Application deadline March 1, 2024
- Application fee: €100* (€40 for scholarship holders)
- Based on an application and, if eligible, a motivational interview.
- Number of seats: 30
- Tuition: €6,400 for French students.
- 6,890 for international applications
- Start date: Monday, March 4, 2024

The engineering program is designed for students who want to acquire a solid grounding in engineering, science and technology. The program focuses on project-based learning and helps students become competent and creative engineers.
Our staggered start allows you to follow the courses to validate your year, so that you can enter the 2nd year at the same time as everyone else.

- Based on application and motivation interview (if eligible after application), then final admission decision.
- Application fee €50* (free for CROUS scholarship holders)

Staggered start Bachelor program
ECE’s Bachelor of Computer Science is a program that provides students with a comprehensive education in computer science and digital sciences. It consists of specialized courses and hands-on experiences that provide students with a solid understanding of digital technologies.
