Master Data Engineer

This program aims to train experts capable of orchestrating the collection, storage, and processing of massive data in service of the digital transformation of organizations.

The methods taught cover the entire data cycle: from designing technical architectures to deploying AI solutions, including the management of high-impact data projects.

The Master Data Engineer is a full-time program (initial pace). Expect between 30 and 35 hours of classes per week, in addition to personal work, data projects, and preparation for evaluations.

This volume covers all the methods and technologies necessary for the practice of the Data Engineer profession within timelines compatible with market expectations.

Yes. The Master Data Engineer is a level 7 diploma registered with the RNCP, awarded by ECE (Ecole Centrale d’Electronique). ECE is an institution recognized by the State, accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs (CTI), a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE), and holds the DD&RS label.

The Master Data Engineer is taught in French. The teachings enable students to master the tools and technologies of data engineering in their native language, while being exposed to a predominantly English technical terminology. 

The documentation, tools, and frameworks used (Python, SQL, Spark, etc.) are in English.

At the end of the program, you can directly enter the job market in positions as a Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or Big Data Engineer.

• Further PhD studies are possible in the fields of data science, cloud computing, or AI, thanks to ECE’s academic network. 
• The skills in predictive modeling acquired during the training also serve as a passport to senior Data Scientist positions.

Graduates of the Master’s in Data Engineering are recruited by organizations of all sizes and sectors, wherever data plays a strategic role. The finance, health, and environment sectors are particularly well-represented, in line with the three main themes proposed in year 2. 

Each student is supported by a dedicated team to identify the partners most suited to their professional project.

The admission process occurs in two stages: application review and motivation interview. 

The application submission takes place on the ECE website:  ece.fr/candidature. 

A placement test assesses technical prerequisites before entering the program: understanding of SQL and Python, mastery of networks and the Linux system. These selection methods help ensure a consistent level within each intake.

Yes. In the 2nd year, students choose a sector-specific thread from three options: 

• Health ;
• Finance ;
• Environment. 

This Management Innovation module allows students to apply data engineering skills to concrete industry problems in their chosen sector. This is a strong point of the program, enabling each team to specialize its data expertise in a strategic area.

Yes. It is one of the official objectives of the program: to deploy a big data analysis solution integrating artificial intelligence. The teachings of the 2nd year directly cover these skills:

• Deep Learning ;
• Machine Learning ;
• Big Data Processing ;
• Big Data Architectures ;
• Computer Vision Systems.

Students also learn to manage the storage, monitoring, and updating of predictive models in a production environment.
