Undergraduate program in Robotics

Study program

Bachelor students can take courses semester 5 or 6 of the Bachelor Cycle (3 year program).

The semester module is composed by face-to-face sessions, personalized ELearning follow-up and supervised student activities. One semester counts courses for 30 ECTS credits.

 

Description of the undergraduate program in Robotics

Pre-requisites

The notions of energy, power, frequency, of periodicity, of filtering. The Fourier transform. Digital basic electronics and the language C.

Content

Signal processing

Master the following practical aspects:

  • Of the analog to the digital technology in practice: sampling – quantification.
  • Of the digital technology in the analog in practice: interpolation.
  • Spectrum analysis in practice with the Fourier transform
  • Synthesis has a practice of digital filters RII and RIF: diverse methods.

 

Contents :

Analysis of Fourier: signals (or systems) determinists in time continuous

  • definitions, correlation, relations of Wiener-Khitchine,

 

Analysis of Fourier: signals (or systems) determinists in time discreet

  • Numerical Fourier transform, correlation, relations of Wiener-Khitchine, Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT)

 

The DFT in practice

  • The Fast Fourier Transform FFT, the temporal analysis window, the spectral resolution, the spectral dynamics
  • Analog filters: in practice
  • Synthesis of digital filters: in practice

 

Robotics

The objective of this course is to master tools for the conception of a robot.

Contents : Learning  of the functioning of the microcontroller PIC and its specific  programming language C, the electronics of the sensors and the electrotechnics of engines with direct and step by step current.

 

Microcontrollers

This course has for objective to approach the fundamental notions in the field of the microcontrollers.

It begins with a reminder on the general architecture of a classic calculation unit to accentuate then the differences with the micro-controllers.

The course focuses on the micro-controllers PIC of Microchip who have the advantage to be the most spread on the market.

 

The French language or The fundamentals of French culture

 

The French language

The French language classes cater for all levels from beginner to advanced. You will work on the language and its fundamental elements in the oral as well as in the written skill. With interactive and creative teaching methods (language games, news, pronunciation, video, theater, etc.) you will learn with fun and quality and accomplish your academic goals.

 

The fundamentals of French culture

The objective of the course is to develop an intermediate-level proficiency in understanding French civilization, culture and society.  Gaining skills to understand contemporary France is vital to your career opportunities, for you to be more adapted and effective in a French team or company. This course is an interactive course designed to help you learn the fundamentals of French culture.

Digital electronics

Master the following practical aspects:

number systems, Boolean algebra, combinatorial logic systems, sequential logic systems (flip-flops, registers, and counters), analog-to-digital conversion, digital-to-analog conversion, digital filters

 

VHDL / FPG

  • Write synthesizable VHDL descriptions
  • Understand the mechanisms of logic synthesis and place and route
  • Write test-bench in VHDL and perform automatic simulations 
  • Synthesize and integrate VHDL decriptions
  • Projects in small groups: applications manipulating the VGA controller
