EVERY SINGLE STUDENT GOES ABROAD TO EDUCATE THEMSELVES

Our students go abroad twice during their studies (once in 3rd year and once in 5th year) and follow a summer school or a semester in a foreign country – or even a year if they want to obtain a double degree. Also, apprentice students at ECE Paris follow 2 study abroad programs: in 3rd year they can go either to Concordia University (Canada) or to Universidad Europea de Madrid (Spain), while in 4th year they do a summer school at University California Irvine (United States). Interested students can avail of aid grants (Erasmus and AMIE scholarships). Besides, teachers can take advantage of a teaching staff mobility program, and as part of it they take part in international conferences and congresses.

Internships abroad and International Internship Programs (VIE).

ENJOY A DAILY INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE AT ECE PARIS!

English remains the most commonly used language among engineers. In order to have their Master’s Degree in Engineering our students must obtain a minimum score for TOEFL (560 – CBT 220), TOEIC (780) or IELTS (6.5). English is taught from the first year of the Preparatory Cycle until the end of the Engineering Cycle’s second year. Classes in the Preparatory Cycle aim at gaining vocabulary at a usual and advanced level and learning to speak in English in order to get ready before going abroad. Classes in the Engineering Cycle focus on the use of the English language relating to new technologies.

ECE Paris has set up international tracks in 2nd year, in which courses are taught in English. But English is not the only language taught. The School has just opened a brand new language center that offers not only English classes but also German, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Japanese classes at various levels.

80% of our turnover come from overseas activities. We see the command of English as essential. So as to be hired in a large company like ours, candidates must have sound technical skills. This is a key criterion in order to move towards team management, project management (for programs or contracts), technical expertise or functional jobs (trade, purchase, marketing, strategy) in France as well as overseas. I have known ECE Paris for many years because I have hired its graduates on behalf of a service company in security, networks and embedded systems. The main strengths of ECE graduates are their customer service skills and their open-mindedness on top of their technical skills. The links we have with ECE Paris have been tightened through the company events that we take part in (mock job interviews, technical conferences, projects entrusted to JEECE – ECE Paris’ junior company…) as well as many opportunities (internships, apprenticeship, international internship programs and jobs).

ECE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ASSOCIATION

ECE International student association has a double task: help foreign students fit in well in ECE Paris by organizing cultural outings (Mont Saint Michel, Christmas market in Strasbourg…), and help ECE Paris students to prepare their stay abroad.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS

Throughout the year ECE Paris hosts various international congresses and offers its students series of conferences. In 2013 the School hosted the Europea Exatec Congress (alumni from Tec de Monterrey, Mexico), an international internship program conference, an ECRTS conference on real time systems, the first worldwide consortium about information system Plug and Play in public transport… And every year ECE Paris holds its international fair during which both students and parents can meet with the partner university representatives.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT ECE PARIS

ECE Paris welcomes lots of foreign students on its campus. They come either for a summer school, or for one/two semester(s) as exchange students, or for two years to obtain ECE’s Master’s Degree.

AN INTERNATIONAL TRACK IN PARIS

Besides stays abroad, ECE Paris offers its students an international track during the last two years of the Engineering Cycle. This track (available for qualified students) enables French students to follow courses in English, and it enables foreign students to take the exams to obtain ECE Paris’ Master’s Degree in Engineering. At ECE Paris you can therefore take advantage of a multicultural environment through the various nationalities of our students and our teachers coming as part of  an exchange program: Mexican, Indian, Polish, Chinese, Spanish, Ivorian, Lebanese, Moroccan, Mauritian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, German, Italian…
