ECE graduates successfully integrate the areas of computer science (original-equipment manufacturers and services), information systems, networks, telecommunications, embedded systems, electronic equipment, digital media technology, and more recently automobile, aeronautics and space technology, transportation, financial transaction processing, mobile communications, high-speed networks, and banking & finance. Corporate and business responsibilities undertaken by our graduates span traditional business functions such as research and development, engineering, production, supply chain, and marketing.
In this section, you will find information about the numerous collaboration options that we offer to corporations on a regular basis. We closely work with companies on research programs, student projects, educational partnerships, internships, and junior initiative programs. Of course, we can also put you in touch with our recent graduates and alumni to help you find the professionals you need to further grow your business or develop ongoing and future projects.
At ECE, students are exposed to leading-edge management concepts emerging from all over the world. As part of this process, they are required to pursue The Global Management and Manufacturing Program which is appropriate to this age of globalization and uses information not based solely on the European approach, but also on the American model of management. This three-week summer program combines the academic strengths and best traditions of the University of California with the cutting-edge, entrepreneurial spirit of Orange County located in the heart of America’s high-tech coast.
During this course, students become acquainted with the principles of leadership and management as explored through contemporary business authors. Books, periodicals and case studies are referenced and debated in group activities. The evolution of management is briefly summarized for the participants and the sessions are interspersed with guest speakers holding leadership positions in American companies. Guests provide lively discussions with the participants about their unique leadership learning experiences and what managerial competencies, they as industry leaders, believe should be developed.
