Master’s Degree Admission Requirements

Is ECE accredited?

The ECE Master’s Degree in Engineering (in French: Diplôme d’Ingénieur) is accredited by both the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the European Union. This is the highest level of recognition for French Schools of Engineering.

In addition, ECE has obtained the prestigious French label of Grande Ecole, which is a very prestigious title for employers.

What are the admission requirements?

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering).

The admission decision pertaining to your application is based upon your complete and whole academic record -academic background, references, work experience, etc.

All courses have English and/or French requirements. You must provide proof that you meet the required standard.

IELTS/TOEFL: Please note that only results achieved within 2 years of the test date will be considered.

Language Test Minimum required score:

  • French: B1 Level prefered
  • English TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication): 780
  • TOEFL CBT (Computer-Based Test): 220
  • TOEFL IBT (Internet-Based Test): 83
  • IELTS (International Language Testing Service): 6.0

Please note that you are not automatically guaranteed acceptance if you meet the requirements above: it is only one element of the application process as you will still be measured against other students applying to your particular program.

When is the application deadline?

Applications must be received by June 15 for consideration for the fall term. Applicants can submit the graduate application earlier (and we encourage applicants to do so in order to ease the administrative burden). Admission is for the fall semester only. We do not have spring admissions. Admissions offers are only valid for the semester which is specified on the acceptance letter. When is the applicationdeadline?Applications must be received by June 15 for considerationfor the fall term. What makes an applicant competitive?

In selecting individuals for admission to all of our degree programs at ECE, our goal is to choose individuals who will not only succeed in their degree program, but will go on to make a real and lasting impact on their organizations and the world around them.

We seek individuals with an appetite for learning and growth, a willingness to work closely and collaboratively with others, and an openness to the rich variety of ideas, cultures, and perspectives that are increasingly a part of our global community.

Because we believe strongly that the greatest learning occurs in a dynamic environment of diverse individuals, there is no formula for making our final selection. We try to create classes of individuals who come together from multiple cultures and traditions, with widely differing perspectives, ideas, and approaches. We look for those who balance strength of character with flexibility, openness, and compassion for others.

Submit the completed application.
