Experience the difference

At the Heart of Emerging Technologies since 1919

The “Ecole Centrale de la Télégraphie Sans Fil” (ECTSF) was founded in 1919. Right after the war, an ambitious young man, Eugène Poirot, engaged in the daring project of creating a school to teach the then emerging radio communications technology. The ECTSF initially trained the first civil and military radio operators working in geographical areas such as Antarctica, continental Europe, and Asia working for the army, the merchant navy, the major airline companies, and later the French national radio and television companies (RTF and ORTF).

Our innovation-orientation has always driven the design of our curriculum.

Today, the ECE curriculum not only covers most significant information and communication technologies – computer science, networks, electronics, embedded systems, and digital media technology – but also includes academic training in essential areas such as stock market finance, risk management, electronic payments, automobile, smart house automation, high-speed networks, e-commerce, and wireless communications. Pioneering does not only take place in the past, but mainly today, and as a result, we aspire to instill in our engineering students the desire to discover and create technologies for tomorrow. We also commit to proactively designing our coursework to reflect the changes that occur in the business and technological environments.

More than 100 different and personalized curricula

Like in the past, 2004 has proven our commitment: we created a masters program specialized in embedded systems, automobile and smart transportation systems, designed two new sector-based concentrations, reviewed the information systems and networks major, developed an aggressive international development strategy by integrating the largest global network of privately endowed educational institutions (LAUREATE), and organized research partnerships in nanotechnologies and distributed systems. Additional projects are ongoing, and we will communicate further details in the near future…
