Research at the ECE Group
The ECE Group is an educational institution that specializes in information and communication technologies, and offers courses of study in computer science, networks, telecommunications, embedded systems, and digital media technologies.
Research lies at the Heart of our Strategy
ECE leverages the available resources at its Laboratory for Analysis and Control of Complex Systems (LACCS) and directs its research efforts towards the following areas:
- Control and communication in and between complex systems
- Nanotechnologies
- Multimedia
ECE currently collaborates with the CNRS research laboratory of Toulon to create a nanoscopic detector of gas.
The ECE Laboratory for Analysis and Control of Complex Systems (LACCS) and the CNRS Laboratory for Microelectronics of Provence (L2MP) collaborate in the area of nanoelectronics. Since January 2002, the team of ISEN Toulon of the L2MP laboratory has developed research activities in molecular electronics. Since 2004 a joint scientific project between the LACCS and the L2MP aims at developing an autonomous embedded system to detect gas. This collaboration is done in the context of the rising and promising area of nanotechnologies. Lamia Rouai, head of the Physics department at ECE, recently announced that “The ECE LACCS will benefit from the fundamental techniques developed by the L2MP laboratory and rely on its costly and heavy equipment while transferring knowledge and expertise of ECE gained in embedded systems and applications solutions development”.
