Paris, first city in the world to study - ECE Graduate school of engineering

Paris, first city in the world to study

Paris is the nicest city in the world for students, ahead of London, Boston, Melbourne and Vienna.
This is the conclusion of one study- the first of its kind- carried out by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd), a British agency specialized in university rankings, and published on February 15, 2012 (Go to topuniversities).

The selection criteria go beyond research

This award list could be surprising comparing to other classifications in which American and British institutions are usually at the top. The final result of this study could be explained by the methodology used. QS has not only taken into account criteria regarding research at the universities, as the Shanghai Ranking does, but also considered twelve additional criteria for this study such as quality of life, reputation with employers from the Higher Education institutions in each country, cost of education, variety of the educational offerings, diversity in the student population …

The surprise of this study was the performance of continental Europe that usually is not well placed in award lists although it counts with more egalitarian and less selective education systems comparing to Anglo-Saxon countries.
